Events Description Accommodation Sculpture Garden Gallery Birds Birthday Parties Maps Weddings Tour Groups Nursery Tour Group information Intro The gardens originally established in 1976 have been totally transformed by the current owners, Scott and Carolyn Robertson who purchased them at the end of 2003. They have left nothing untouched over the last few years from the installation of original sculpture, extensive new plantings, a refurbished cafe and cottage, new garden furniture, fountains, benches and BBQs to the manicured lawns and gardens. The final result, a truely unique and pleasurable experience for both young and old. The Gardens The Bird Gardens are several acres of delightful, mature landscaped gardens on the edge of Tauranga’s inner harbour. With a blend of formal and informal design, lily ponds, fountains and garden art the gardens are an enchanting destination with year round colour and interest. Over 50 varieties of birds can be found, roaming freely among the lawns and trees and in aviaries scattered through the gardens. These include New Zealand natives such as Keas, Teal and Kereru (Wood Pigeon). Cafe and Facilities
